While a simple build, Catra's headpiece is the most popular item in my store, so making copies has been a good exercise in streamlining production. The master itself was 3D modeled and printed in PLA. After sanding and priming, the piece was molded in a two part silicone mold with a 3D printed mold jacket. The copies are then pressure cast in urethane resin. After cleanup, each one is given a base coat of red and then weathered. Oil paints are used to give a general wash and enamels are used for dry brushing chips and scratches. The piece is then given a matte clear coat for protection.
